With either the clockwise or anti-clockwise direction of the steering, this will open and close the valve attached to the rack housing, which in turn pushes fluid from the reservoir directly into it.

The braking system of a vehicle is yet another important example of hydraulics in action. Components of this system include brake fluids, master and slave cylinders, pads and lines. When you need to decelerate and you hit the brake pedal, what you’re essentially doing is pressing a piston into a brake fluid reservoir referred to as the master cylinder. The fluid then transmits that pressure through brake lines that are connected to each wheel of the vehicle, where it’s then used to activate the brakes.
